Sup guys, I just bought the HP Pav m6-1084ca from my local Future Shop (Canada) link here

This m6 differs from the Best Buy US one mainly in that the 1084ca is dual-graphics (has a 7670M on board).

I bought it with the following reasons in mind:
    - It's relatively cheap (when I bought it, I received a $100 Future Shop gift card from my purchase)
    - With 7660G+7670M, it should be able to handle Guild Wars 2 smoothly, even if it's at low graphics (I will be testing this if more betas come out, or when the game is launched)
    - When not gaming, this laptop should be able to get 7+ hours on battery, something you can't get on a Intel-Nvidia laptop if it's not using Optimus
    - Something that will not be discussed on these forums, but I'm trying to put mountain lion onto an AMD laptop.

    First Impressions:
    - The touchpad is not slippery enough when my finger slides across the touchpad, it skips because the touchpad material causes too much friction
    - Sound system's amazing (compared to my Alienware M11x)
    - The keyboard's like a trampoline; way too much vertical give
    - The screen's not as bad as others have said (but no 1080p upgrade option)
    - Bottom panels are tricky to open (I still don't know how to get to the Wifi card)
    - Important: The wifi card is surprisingly abysmal; when my M11x is getting a 38.16Mbps down from speedtest.com at home, my m6 is getting 4.7Mbps

    OOTB WEI

Surprisingly, shows that the GPU performance is worse than the m6-1035dx

    OOTB 3Dm11 @ 1280x720
    [IMG]
Scores a 1958, and apparently the GPU driver is "not approved" (still too new?)
    For reference:
    - The m6-1035dx (BB US) scored a 1135
    - The dv6 with A10-4600m and 7730M scores 1643 at stock clocks and 1853 when overclocked (because it cannot hybrid xfire with the 7660G)

    Windows updated:
    - WEI stayed the same
    - 3Dm11 went up to 2038 (insignificant)

    Testing with 3D Mark 2006 (DX9):
    3Dm06 @ 1280x768
    [IMG]
Scored surprisingly low, only getting 8367.
    - Lower than the dv6 with A10-4600m and 7730M, which clocked in at 9698 stock, 9941 overclocked
    - With that same machine on only the 7660G, it came in at 7950.
    - This leads me to believe that DX9 can't use 7660G+7670M as well as DX11 can.

Guild Wars 2 stress test tomorrow. I will be testing it with this machine.
I only got in like 10 minutes of testing due to other commitments.
On Low, it was smooth as butter
On Highest, it stuttered, but was still better than M11x r1 on Lowest

No idea, all tests were done OOTB / updated windows.
So the driver was whatever it came with.

(I no longer own this laptop)
