    Hey guys
I have finally decided to get my MoBo fixed up for the Graphics card issue I had recently. The cost of replacement I received from HP is pretty acceptable to me. However there is a small question I would like to be answered here if possible.

I do not want a nVidia graphics card anymore. Its too big a risk and headache to go for the same choice again. I have enquired and found out that a Intel Graphics card variant of 2699ee is available in the market. The Service center guys however are doubtful if they can make such a replacement i.e. Intel Display enable mobo against nVidia. Any insights?

Well, you will have to replace the current nvidia GPU motherbord with one which has the Intel GPU in it. HP solders the GPU to the motherboard, so a complete replacement of the motherboard will replace the GPU as well. HP sold the dv2600 series with both Intel and Nvidia GPU's. So, as long as you get the mobo specifically for the dv2600 series then it should be a straight fit. Check the HP service manual on their website, it should list the model number you will need for the motherboard.

If you don't game and you just use your laptop for internet and video you should have bought Intel in the first place. For any serious use, i'd keep the nV and the risks associated with it. Mine's still alive.
