After installing the latest bios from Windows 8, my computer will not POST.

I tried win+b to use the supposed bios recovery tool, but no luck.

I also did not notice any led blink codes.

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but its a bit hard to navigate this site on a mobile device.

Tried the 4 arrow keys, nothing. Also tried the Phoenix bios recovery method just in case.

Bump, any mode thoughts? I don't have an easy way to sort through documentation, so does anyone know of a bios recovery method?

    Hey, sorry for the delay.
I had tried that method earlier, and nothing seemed to happen.
I had to disconnect my SSD and CMOS battery, as well as plugging in my flash drive in one of the LEFT slots.

Now Windows 8 won't boot, but I can take care of all that stuff since I have a working BIOS now.

    Thanks.

2 other ways to roll back the HP Bios.

    dv6/dv7-7000 series and maybe others:

OPTION 1: Press ESC when turning on laptop, choose diagnostics, BIOS management, and go to rollback

OPTION 2: with the laptop powered off and battery and A/C power in - hold in on the windows key and the "B" key, AND the power button for 3 to 4 seconds. Laptop will turn on to a black screen and blinking cursor. After a few seconds an IMMEDIATE BIOS ROLLBACK will start, with no options.

DO NOT INTERRUPT OR STOP THE BIOS ROLLBACK.

Also I'm curious, what BIOS version did you upgrade to - F.22?

baiii, thanks for the http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/35272-HP-Insyde-BIOS-recovery-steps link.
