Hey hopefully this will work, the chipset in HDX machines is intel so I'm assuming this will be compatible, try it @ http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?ProductID=2205&DwnldID=8658&lang=eng << Driver for Sigmatel IDT 92XX on intel chipsets....

From what I've read on this forum, no on has been able to find XP drivers for the audio card. If you search around this forum for information on the HDX and people that have tried to install XP you will see the same problem from everyone. This has been the main complaint with people that have purchased an HDX after Vista came out, is that they can't install XP because they can't find the audio drivers.
Good luck though! -
I noticed that Dell has the same audio hardware. A Sigmatel 92xx.
So try this Dell driver for XP.

Or this one:

Nyko, did you give these Dell driverrs a try?
You might have to install this XP patch first: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/888111 -
Not sure why people downgrade as soon as they get their notebook. isn't a bad idea for a few of reasons;
1) Driver support by HP, isn't really there... and will not always be there...
2) HP tech support will, in almost any case, tell you to reinstall vista in order to solve the problem.
3) Obsolete Operating system... after SP3 comes out, windows will not make any effort update windows to new hardware.
4) Most people think there is a speed boost... unfortunately thats not exactly true. Any operating system (OEM) is faster then a pre-installed OS.... Its kinda like saying a better suitcase is a lighter suitcase.... but you will still eventually be carrying the same weight in cloths in it...
* Everyone says they hate vista but no one knows why they hate it... the few people who do, argue that its more reliable, more drivers are supported, etc... Vista is much more stable then XP, in most respects... driver support is coming out for new hardware as needed, and if needed some companies are make vista drivers for their products. * -
Hi, Nyko, did you have good luck on finding drivers for xp?
-
Did anyone try the Dell drivers for XP for the same/similiar hardware?

FunnyX - I'm watching all of the HDX threads b/c I'm still considering an HDX later this year - finances permitting. But, your comments confuse me (I'm old
) - did you mean to say it (dual-booting) is a bad idea or isn't a bad idea? I have dual-booted all of my recent lappies since it gives me a redundant OS just in case one decides to act up. For Nyko - I may be out in left field here, but I used ATI desktop drivers and the Mobility Modder to mod them for the ATI 2600 HD on my ASUS F8SA. Maybe the Mobility Modder doesn't support the 2600XT - if so, I apologize for wasting your time.

Hey guys, go to my website,
http://jonnybrady.com/hphdx/index.php
You can download the drivers there and please leave any feedback for others or myself.
IMPORTANT: I REALLY RECOMMEND INSTALLING XP SERVICE PACK '3' BEFORE INSTALLING ANY DRIVERS AS IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY INSTALL SOME OF THE MISSING DRIVERS AND PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR HD AUDIO AND UAA.
I have included a utility to modify the XP installation so that it will recognise the internal hard drives, so you can install XP, you'll need your original XP installation disc and a blank cd-r. The hard disc 'F6' drivers are located in a self explanitory folder in the drivers.zip file download.
Please note the sound drivers made all of the audio jacks work, but not the internal speakers, I'm working on this problem now. However you can get full 7.1 surround (if you have 7.1 speakers, stereo and 5.1 works just fine too)) oh and you need to use the IDT control panel and disable 'Optimize Bass Routing' otherwise your bass will sound muted somewhat, other than that the sound quality is amazing!
I have included a modded version of the ATI driver for all the people with Radeon Mobility 2600XT cards.
In the package download there is also some free open source media centre software so you can use your TV Card, you might wanna support the guys who make the software if you like it, it's pretty good for a free product, very much like windows media centre.
After installing all the drivers you will notice that there are 4 unknown devices in the device manager, from what i can gather from their hardware ID's they're just unrecognised quick launch buttons (dvd, tv, eject and one other).
Anyways guys I hope you manage to get XP on your machines successfully! Also I'm bugging HP to get them to officially support XP on the HDX range of laptops! I suggest you guys do the same as well and maybe HP will cave under the pressure... we can dream...
All the Best!
