well i know where the problem is i installed the latest drivers from laptopvideo2go(179.13) .. becasue the ones that hp offer for my laptop are from the ancient history l(ike 169 or something like that)

but now i lost the abillity to increase and decrease lcd brightness using hotkeys or using mobility center .. does anybody know any fix for that other than installing ancient drivers

    thanks alot in advance

try posting in the HP forum..
it doesnt seem like a windows problem but rather some HP software which controls the hotkeys.

if you dont find a solution you can always roll back the driver to the previously installed one:
Open Device manager -> display adapters -> right click on your nvidia card and select properties -> select the 'driver' tab -> select 'roll back driver'

I believe that HP's video drivers come with the software to make the video-related hotkeys function. I experienced the same thing with my HP dv6000z and its GeForce Go 6150.

can u please gimme such software or guide me to where it's about ... if it's inside the old drivers .. is there a way to extract it

It's because you installedd drivers with modified INF. I you want your Fn-7-8 keys work just install original nvidia driver.

I've been using drivers with the modified inf and my brightness buttons still work fine. I don't think that's what's causing the problem.

its not the drivers for the video card, its the quicklauch buttons. Or quicktouch.
