Note: This tut will be written based on my experiences with my dv6-6153cl. Your experience may vary slightly from computer to computer.

This is a series of steps to take when you buy a new HP computer.
Step 1: Do a minimal install. This will remove all of the crapware that comes with it while leaving all of the drivers and necessary software installed.
WARNING: This will delete all of your data so if you have any, please back it up.
Instructions: When turning on your computer press the f11 key. Then select minimal install and follow the instructions.

Step 2: Update the BIOS. You are most likely running a old BIOS and you need the newest one to have manual switching.
WARNING: If you screw this up i hope you still have your receipt because you just bought a paperweight.
Instructions: Go to HP Support & Drivers | United States and enter the model of your computer. Download the latest BIOS update and follow the wizard.

Step 3: Download the latest Graphics drivers from the same website after flashing the BIOS.

Step 4: Download the latest DNA drivers and install them.
Instructions: Go to Windows 7 | Do Not Argue and download the latest drivers. Install them.

Step 5: Go to the BIOS and enable manual switching.
Instructions: When booting there should be white text in the bottom left corner that tells you to press a key. Press that key and when you get to the BIOS go to graphics -> Switching and set it to manual. Save and restart.

And that's pretty much it. Feel free to correct me or post if there is anything i missed or you would like to add.
