I just recently picked up my new DV7, wiped the drive and re-installed Vista Ultimate x64. The machine itself runs great, but after installing all the drivers and the most recent bios, I hit a strange snag- I have my right channel speaker, works fine. But my left channel isn't coming out the left speaker, but out through the subwoofer. I've tried uninstalling the IDT codec and letting Vista use it's own driver, same deal. Re-installed IDT, same deal. I get no sound at all through the left speaker, and Vista only recognizes me as having 2 speakers. Anyone have any advice?

No ideas, huh? I've been looking elsewhere too, and I've seen one or two other people with a similar problem, but it doesn't seem to be all that widespread

I messed around moving sound from one side to the other and didnt have this problem.

Well tell me this, when you go into your sound settings, does it show you as having three speakers, or does it just list stereo sound/w two speakers?
-
It just says Stereo sound and only has 2 speakers. If i change the balance the subwoofer still works.

I wonder if somehow my left speaker became detached from the board? Does anyone know if the speakers use three leads, or a single plug?
(DV7T-1285DX) Subwoofer = left speaker?
