    hi
i just received my dv6000t yesterday and recently, when i try to open up microsoft word... it takes literally 2-3 min for it to open. it was not like this when i first got it.. im not sure if it was something i did on msconfig. can anyone help me out?
powerpoint and excel both open up super fast. i dont know whats wrong

also, when it finally does open up the bottom left corner says "requesting virus scan..." and it lags for about 30 secs.

    Get rid of Microsoft Word.

Download: Abiword OR Open Office. Those are free alternatives to MSWord poopage.

Have you tried uninstalling Microsoft Office crapware and reinstalling it again?

It could be the virus scan or it could be your firewall if you have one and MS word is banned.
Try defragmenting the hard drive. This could be one of those rare moments when defgramenting helps.

Yeah, I'm guessing it's a confliction between your anti-virus and MS word. try disabling the anti-virus then running word.

you could try bootvis to make your bootups faster if needed and try turning off system restores as it causes the system to lag alot
    hope it helps
    cheers,

Do you have Norton Anti-Virus running? If so, it's common for Norton to create issues with MS Office Programs. If you have Norton, I would recommend uninstalling it completely. Before you install another anti-virus, reboot windows, and see if Word opens normally.

If it does, Norton is your problem, and I would download a different Anti-Virus software. Give AVG a try. It's free, and quite good.
