    Hey.

Today while doing some CPU stress tests on my dv6t with core i5-2410M, I noticed it never clocks above 2.3Ghz. For example Prime95 stresses the cpu to the max, but it still never goes above 2.3GHz: (picture)
I also tried converting videos with handbrake, unzipping large files, gaming in windowed mode, still never overclocks.

Please note that coolsense is set on performance optimized and max cpu state in power options is 100%. I don't see an option in the BIOS to activate/disable turbo boost.

So my question is, how exactly does turbo boost work?

Try restart your pc or use ThrottleStop.

Yesterday I noticed if you have HP CoolSense set for maximum cooling (at least for the stationary settings) Turboboost seems to be deactivated.
