For my 2nd topic tonight, I'm having a unique problem. Sometimes, the computer doesn't keep up with my typing. I'll type 10-20 characters and nothing will appear on the screen for a couple of seconds. They appear later, every last one of them. For a guy like me, though, who proofreads as I type, checking to make sure that the words I type in are correct, this is getting annoying.
Sometimes, also, the computer will miss characters while I type. Example: I mean to type "conversation" but the computer reads "convsation"). I'm having particular difficulty with "er" and other combinations of characters right next to each other on the QWERTY row. I'm fairly certain that I'm pressing down hard enough. Wonder if I'm just flooding the keyboard buffer? On the other hand, this is not the only computer on which this happens. My wife's laptop (a 3 year old Dell Inspiron 2500) showed the same problem. Ok, maybe there is a problem with my typing. [V] Is there a way to check and make sure there's nothing wrong with the computer, though?

I had the same problem. Update the bios via the HP website. It doesn't fix entirely. Just every so often you'll have the prob (as will any notebook-pretty much)

Would you happen to know why all notebooks have this problem?
