    Good day

My HP DV6161 is going very well. I have however noticed that some of the keystrokes come out incorrectly. When I type \ I get #. When I type # I get £. If I type " I get @ and I have to type Shift 2 to get ".

This problem exists on both the notebook keyboard and on my external USB keyboard so I know that it is not the keyboard per se. I really need to find the \ keystroke to log-in to a web mail account.

Any suggestions as to what causes this.

    Thanks :)

Since it's not hardware related problem, because you have tried the external keyboard and still get the same problem.
So I would guess the keyboard driver probably screwed up somehow, just uninstall your notebook's keyboard driver and reinstall it and see if everything's back to normal.

In control panel, change your regional options from british keyboard layout to US layout. I always preferred the british one, but that may have something to do with being british...
