My HP notebook took on some dust recently. Well, two and a half years of dust, I should say. The heat sink and fan grates were clogged. I pulled off the heat sink cover, removed the heat sink, and cleaned the copper parts. It was pretty dirty. The exaust vents were running very hot air out of them previous to the cleaning. I was experiencing video and audio performance issues as a result. I wish that I'd have started by tackling the heat issues..it would have saved me a ton of troubleshooting..anyway, on to the chill pads..
Best buy sold me a $30 2007 Targus chill pad for $15..all on my word that Circuit city was running the same price..Not to be confused w/ the Walmart Targus Tornado (although it shares the same model #)..The Tornado Targus sucks air from underneath..The new Targus blows air instead..hmm..not sure which is better..I ended up returning an Antec cooler that I paid $40 for three days ago at Staples..they are on sale this week for $19.98..Comp Usa charges $45..I bought another Antec, and now I've got two..The Antec sucks air as well, and has a high/low switch..Does anyone have experience with these?

Blowing air - More cooling power also more dust to your computer
Sucking air - Less cooling power and less dust to your computer -
1/2 price notebook coolers. Some suck. Some blow.
