    how is going??? i was planning to order my HPdv 1040 but HP does not sell it any more.. only few stores like circuit city have themm.. thbe new model dv1150 has 1.5 ghs and the old has 1.6 ghz.. the funny thing is that the older mdoel is way more expecive than the new one... even though the new one comes with more hard drive.. is there a difference between 1.6 and 1.5 ghz..?.. w

    Marginal, if any. You'll get more of a performace gain by upgrading the hard drive or memory.

    Barely a difference, you will see a big difference with more memory and a faster hard drive like zazonz said.

    I don't understand what you wrote, but yes, a faster hard drive is good. I'd add memory first, then a faster hard drive.

    Get the newer model. You will use hard drive space more than what 100 MHZ will benefit you. As long as it is a Dothan with Level 2 2 MB Cache. Dothans have better energy management and are faster.

    There are two CPU choices, Celeron M or Pentium M. The Dothan refers to the Pentium M with the 2Mb on board cache. All of the Pentium M choices are Dothan.

    i went to the hp site as some one recommended me to buy it off from hp straight rather than store so.. but what is Dothan?? i tried to custom build mine on hp's site but did not see anything which mentioned dothan.. please help
