Quick rundown of specs: Intel Core 2 Duo T7300 (2.0Ghz) with 2GB of RAM, 8400M GS (quite pissed they added the option for a T7500 now)

I recently bought a Sharp Aquos and decided to use my laptop to stream 1080p movies to the television via HDMI. I've had no problem with connectivity and also recently realized that the SPDIF interface is the correct one to use to have audio come out through the Sharp.

Unfortunately, while steaming 1080p, the video can lag and cause it to fall behind the audio. This doesn't seem to happen unless I fullscreen. I was curious if it might be the player I've been using or just if the laptop itself is not capable of streaming 1080p without the video lagging behind. Something else I noticed was it doesn't seem to happen with the 1080p movie trailers I've watched. I use the same media player to watch the trailers vs. whatever else I'm watching in HDMI, so does filesize or streaming bitrate matter?

I was wondering if anyone here also streams 1080p video over HDMI to their HDTV and if so, what media player do you use? Are there any steps you take to prevent visual lag?

Also, yes, the power cord is plugged in and the High Performance power option is enabled. Otherwise, the processor is at 100% usability all the time.

Thanks for your time, and I apologize if these questions are answered in ten different threads, but I was unable to find the answers I need elsewhere.

To the OP: You might wanna try CoreAVC. Supposedly it's a faster H.264 decoder.

You can use it with Media Player Classic, which is free. CoreAVC isn't free though.
