The 11.6 drivers are now up for your ATI cards. The mobility driver direct from AMD has not gone up just yet but Guru3D have a slightly modified version posted. For all desktop cards; the drivers are up.

I have a question about my 6770m in my DV6 6100...I see that some of you can install newer versions of CCC (newer than the stock HP one I mean). I'm on 11.5b drivers at the moment (not had chance to try 11.6 as at work currently) and only choose to upgrade driver as opposed to CCC as everytime I update CCC and click on it the program wont start up. Any ideas how get any CCC version other than the stock ones working?

Kurosawa, look for the 11.5b hotfix file and not the file directly from ATI. It will also update your CCC, and should work perfectly. It can be installed directly over the stock files.

Nice find. I installed over my 11.5b and the CCC works perfectly! Thanks for finding this one!

I just looked at the release notes page and found this:

The following notebooks are not compatible with this release:
    - Any notebook launched after this driver release
    - Switchable Graphics enabled notebooks using Intel® chipsets.
    - Toshiba® notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
    - Sony® VAIO® notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)
    - Panasonic® notebooks (please contact the notebook OEM for driver support for these notebooks)

What do they mean by Switchable Graphics? Is it the manual switching one or the dynamic or both?

It means both. Some people report success installing the drivers anyways, but YMMV

It also means, Don't install without the Intel Drivers first.
AMD can't help you directory debug or fix problems that occurs since AMD and Nvidia can't package the Intel Drivers in theirs.

Short term success yes, don't know about the long term but who cares if it gets damaged after a year or two. Most of us get a new laptop by that time anyways. So do it at your own risk, also new AMD drivers tend to break older games or newer games based on older engines.

Real quick experience on 11.6 for me:

I lost about 20-30FPS in CS:S. World of Warcraft stutters, and anytime something runs that switches to the high performance GPU the PC hangs temporarily

My friend's dv7t went squirrely on him after he installed the 11.6. I get my dv7t next week and I think I'll only go as far as 11.5b until I see something official from AMD for the 6770.

    Download 3DMark from Futuremark.

We tend to talk about either 3DMark Vantage or 3DMark 2011.

I saw that too about not working for switchable graphics but yet when I open CCC and click on update it pulls up the 11.6 drivers.

I have it set up to check fot updates on its own as well.. Would be a little strange for it to update drivers that were not made for my configuration, don't you think?

    What version are these drivers?

My install said it succeded, but in the CCC it still says 11.5 and device manager still says the update is from 5/24 version 8.850.6.0.

I don' think the installation worked.

Installed fine over the 11.5b's. No performance issues, stuttering,BSOD's etc. Not noticed any performance increase in the games I play.

I'm not sure what you mean by 11.5b hotfix file NOT from ATI. Could be anything! If you have a link pls provide. 11.5b drivers installed fine but CCC just would not open up.

I've found I have the same problem with 11.6. Drivers fine, CCC refuses to open. So in the end I had to do a stock install of the ATI package and then only update the drivers to 11.6. CCC then co-operates and opens up.

On another note - performance of 11.6...I saw slightly higher framerates in SC2 - jumped from about 100 in medium setting to 105.

Also 3dmark Vantage has no stutter now. I ran the benchmark last night and it went through fine but I couldnt get a result as flash (i think what the program is written in) crashed as the tests finished. Oh man I LOVE flash....
