Just picked up a spare 12-cell battery at Bestbuy today. Online they're going for $150, but most if not all Bestbuy stores are having a closeout sale for only $50. I've noticed these batteries are on closeout sale for a few weeks now. HP may be coming out with longer lasting batteries, but you can't go wrong for only $50.

    HP Pavilion zv6000
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.0GHz)
    15.4" Brightview (1280x800)

    8 cell battery

I just checked out the discounted batterys for the ZV5000, ZV6000,R4000,and the R3000, ( they all take the same battery) at Bestbuy.
I found 2 on the shelf, they don't say it fits ZV6000 or R4000 since they were manufactured before the ZV6000 or R4000 came on the market.
Anyway to make a long story short, I bought them both with the hope they would fit, and they did!! :) The long and the short is I only paid 21 dollars per battery, don't know if they will take a full charge as I have the first one in my computer right now and am watching it changing. will let you know!
But if anyone needs an extra battery for any of those above laptops, check out Bestby quickly before there sold out!!!!
By the way the batteries are 12 cell.

Hope this helps some one out there ;)

Be sure to check the wear level using MobileMeter or other utility.

I found a 12-cell batt. at Bestbuy yesterday for $20 (guess I was right, they're still dropping the price). Unfortunately this one has an 11% wear, but for $20 I really can't complain. I tried changing the title of this thread to $20, but was unable to do so. So now I have 5 batts. between my 2 lappies (two 8-cell and three 12-cell) LOL. I guess the 12-cell batt. that started this thread is going back. Or maybe not. Haven't decided yet  .

To keep all my batteries fully charged I rotate using them in my lappies every 2 weeks or so. If anyone has a better way of maintaining batteries please let us know. Thanks.

I'm not sure how valid wear level off the shelf is. You might be able to get that down by running the battery down to the bone and then re-charging. When I ran my battery down, I was able to bring the wear level down from 12% to 4% (actually to 2% for a bit).

LOL, AMDemon. Shipping alone will probably cost more than the batteries!!!

Thanks for the tip, Techdabbler. I almost never completely discharge my batteries. But now that you've mentioned it I read somewhere that periodically discharging batteries is actually good for maintaining its life. I'll try it tonight and let you guys know if I get any improvement in wear level.
