Get MobileMeter. Right-click on its display, Options, Battery Information tab. 12 cells have a Designed Capacity of 88800 mWh. Ideally your Wear Level will be under 10%, mine is still 0% amazingly enough. If the WL is high and the battery is under a year old HP will replace it under warranty.

The zv6000 batteries used bigger cells than the zv5000? Dunno.

    Thnx for the replies!
I have d/l MobileMeter, and my battery is a 12cell.
I've already got 4% wear though. I haven't had the laptop for all that long.
Is it bad to charge when its down to only 80%?

It won't hurt a battery to charge them at any level. The new laptop batteries have no memory.

The 4% ware is probably because the battery has been sitting in a warehouse somewhere for a while. These things don't last more than a few years even if you aren’t using them.
