*Can't edit thread title, but should have written Driver-check instead of "Need Drivers" * :)

    Dear Forum,

I recently acquired a new laptop for my wife, it's model 15-p265ns, available in Spain:
    - Product Specifications
    - Software and Drivers
    - Data sheet (spanish)

I have to say that we're very disappointed with Win 8, we do not like it at all, it's not intuitive and somehow not very user-friendly. We decided to format the whole thing and install Win 7 instead.
I did all the necessary backup, creating Recovery Disks etc...so we're ready to go. We're very well aware that Win 7 is not supported for this notebook, at least not from HP, so, I need to get the drivers directly from the components manufacturers or elsewhere.

I think that I've found all of them, would somebody be able to double check so that we can proceed with no fear of mucking it up somewhere ?

    1. Ethernet/LAN : Realtek RTL8139/810x Fast Ethernet Adapter
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...d=6&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false (The one on top)

    2. WLAN : Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi Adapter
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_147415_1 (not sure if it's the latest though)

    3. Display :
AMD Radeon(TM) Dual Graphics [Display adapter]
AMD Radeon(TM) R7 M265DX [Display adapter], according to Belarc
AMD Radeon R7 M260 Graphics (2 GB DDR3L dedicated), according to official data sheet
    http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows+7+-+64
It mentions on the bottom “AMD Radeon™ R7 M200 Series” in the “Supported Products” tab.

    4. Chipset :
Same link as in 3, but downloadable in the "Optional Downloads" tab

    5. Audio :
I'm a bit confused here, on the Driver & Software page it's called "Realtek High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver" & through Aida 64 and Belarc I've also founded it listed as PCI/PnP under the following name:
ATI Radeon HDMI @ AMD K15.3 - High Definition Audio Controller
Realtek ALC290 @ AMD Bolton FCH - High Definition Audio Controller

    Should I download it from here ( http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads...=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false) ?
    I can't see any alc290 reference though...

Is it safe to assume that the Chipset driver will install also some stuff regarding audio ?

    6. Realtek RTL8723BE Bluetooth Driver :
    http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ob_147638_1&swEnvOid=4058#

    7. HP Button Wireless Button Driver
    The concern begins...only a Win8 driver exists.
What could be installed for that ? I imagine that it enables/disables Wireless connectivity by pressing the "Aeroplane" (F12)... I mean, I assume that wifi will work, it's just that the button won't, so I only will be able to disconnect softwarewise ?
Does a driver for Win 7 exist ? Is it needed ?

    8. Realtek RTS5229 PCI-E Card Reader
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/Downloads/downloadsView.aspx?PNid=15&PFid=25&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3
This is for SD cards (photography and telephony) to be read, correct ?

    9. Synaptics TouchPad Driver
Didn't find anything here, all I know it's version 18.1.7.13. What could I install for this ?

That's it, the rest is optional - HP Bloatware.
I'd appreciate if someone could give me a green light so to speak :)

    Cheers,
    Ken

Well, after reading through some other forums and seeing how people were bashed for wanting the same (Win 7), I maybe give it a second thought.
I will remove all the HP crapware and other programs that have sneaked in and give it a try with Start8.
The boot time and shutdown time in Win8 is fast in comparison to Win7, however I'm not sure if the overall "snappiness" is better in Win8.
If I don't like it anyway I can always go back and try Win7 instead, I think that I have all the drivers.
    Cheers
