I am aiming to get 1440x900, but HP DV5T only offers WXGA+ 1200x800 or WSXGA+ 1680x1550. I want higher resolution that WXGA+, but do you think WSXGA+ will be too overkill and will water your eyes on 15.4" screen? Somebody has screenshot to post? or email to vistaip at gmail dot com

No, WSXGA+ is perfect. Coming from a 19'' 1280x1024 screen the first 2 days were kinda crazy but after you don't want to go back.

I'm running a WSXGA+ on a 17" laptop and I would say that it's often really nice but the text and some graphics are sometimes a bit to small. It all depends on your eyesight and the distans you will keep the laptop.

You can always lower the resolution on the 1680x1550 if you think it's too small, but you can't increase the resolution on the 1440x900 if you think it's too big. Also, if you don't like it you have 21 days after they ship it to try it out. If you decide it's not right for you, you return it and order a new one without any money out of your pocket, just a bit of your time.

Well...sort of... You can't really make a good looking lower resolution picture on a LCD screen. Unlike old tube monitors or plasma screens. But I would prefer 15.4" with 1920x1200 screen.

Same here; I can't live without WUXGA (1920x1200). Only get it if your eyes can handle it though; the fonts can be quite small.

WSXGA+ (1680x1050) would be my recommendation. Get WXGA (1280x800) only if your eyesight isn't very good.

Get the highest one you can, and if the fonts are too small, up the dpi from 96 to 120.

If you're running Vista I would recommend you taking the highest resolution possible. Vista is capable of changing the DPI of the fonts much better than XP so if the text is too small you can always change the DPI. With higher resolution, scaling will of course be much better.
