I'm planning on purchasing these sticks from newegg to install in my laptop, is the dv6 6170us capable of 1600Mhz?

might be slightly better. -
I have a dv6 6170 and the motherboard does in FACT support DDR3 1600 if you have one of the high end i7 Sandy Bridge chips. For instance I have an i7 2820QM which based on the HP Repair manual for the dv6 6000 series was the best chip available in the dv6 quad with HM65 chipset.
I am using 2 sticks of 4GB Hyinx RAM and it registers in CPU-Z as 1600, Geekbench also reports my RAM at 1600 as well as many other applications.
1600Mhz RAM compatible with dv6 61** series?
