Yes, it will work, as it is SATA. Your notebook is also SATA. I would also consider an external hard disk if you need to have alot more storage. They are a little slower, but they do offer alot more storage space.

Yes, it will also work on the DV9000. They will work with any notebook that has a SATA interface. ImajinMyFX, you can install two hard disks in your notebook, but you will require a kit, and these are difficult to find. Instead, you could buy another hard disk and replace it, like the one metalneverdies has found, or alternatively, you could use an external one, if you don't move your notebook around too much.

The kit has a caddy, and some cables and a small circuit board I think. It connects to the rear of the hard disk and a small cable connects to that, which in turn connects to the motherboard. It is difficult to find, and HP, if they do sell it to you, it will probably cost quite alot of money. I would just buy a large capacity drive, and install that. That 160 GB drive is quite good, and I think there are some large 200 GB drives also available, but they have a slow spin rate of 4200 RPM.

i was gonna make my 80 that im using now and external but there is only one company i found that makes sata 2.5" drive cases... and all the reviews said it was cheap went bad or it broke when they were putting in the screws and with it being 50 bucks i wasnt gonna take the chance on somethign that every one said sucked :(

but i think i will beable to survive with like 110 gigs of usable diskspace (149 usable after format, 20 taken with system files for hp and what not, 11 used for system restore partition)

i dont know about u guys, but if i had the money to uprgade my hard drive i would go for the 100 gig hard drive that is 7200rpm rather than the 160 gig hard drive that is only 5400rpm. they are about the same price but i would go for better performance!
    currently i only have a 60 :(
