    Hi folks!

So the timer is ticking and I'm about to buy my first laptop. I'm super excited and I'm trying to hash out a few more things with it.

I'm having trouble deciding on the 17" or 15.4" display. I'm concerned about battery life. I'd like to see atleast two hours of normal computer use without being plugged in. I'd also like to be able to watch a complete DVD movie from start to finish without interruption.

I've heard that the Play Now feature on the HP will allow you to watch a movie on the computer, while not booting the OS and will provide close to 3 hours of battery life. Is this correct?

    Thanks in advance!

Battery life will be just fine on a 17". My nx9420 runs 4 hours on an 8 cell with the Ambient Light Sensor on, and 3 hours with it off.

i have a dv6500 with a high capacity 6cell battery. lasts me around 3.5 hours with regular usage, ie. surfing the net with wireless on, and using two usb ports (one for mouse and one for vonage)
