    Hello everyone,

I have a problem. My lcd panel just broke... i cracked it.

My laptop is an HP 8710W and the lcd panel was AUO B170UW01 V.1 (1920x1200) 17' CCFL 2ch LVDS

I need to buy a new one and i was thinking to get an LG Philips LP171WU5 (1920x1200) 17' RGB LED screen 2ch LVDS(?!)

As you can imagine the new screen will be MUCH better than the old one.

My question is WILL IT WORK? Is going from CCFL to LED going to require new inverter too?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Nevermind... i checked the service manuals of the 8710w and 8730w and there are a lot of problems.

    1. LVDS connector is different.
    2. It has a different inverter.
    3. Ambient light sensor is different too.
