I just jumped for an HP dv8t 18.3" laptop which just looks awesome. Any recommendations on a bag that will fit? I had an HP 17" back in 2002 and had a pretty nice laptop bag that fit it and I have no idea what brand that was, otherwise I would buy a similar one.

I got a Mobile Edge bag for my 18t (18.4 inch). Although it says it'll hold up to 17 inch screens it's a snug fit, but works fine.

I ordered the Targus one with my HDX 18 system from HP and it fits perfect with plenty of space for other stuff. It is extremely comfy to carry with shoulder strap and I have traveled with it on airlines and rate it 5 stars. It has a nice velcro strap which secures the lid nicely. It has very good construction with excellent zippers and extra padding where its needed.

The best thing to do is to take your laptop with you to a store that has multiple bags, (like, for example, Best Buy) and try them out. Especially with an unusually large laptop, there's no substitution for trying them out in person. That's the only way you'll know if the laptop fits, and if the bag otherwise meets all your requirements.

LOL thats not far from what I am using for my 18 incher. I stuck mine in a carryall. Gave up looking for one that fits that monster, and to be honest I dont really move it much so didnt see need to pursue it.

i had a tough time finding a bag for my dv7t.... so i got some $40 caselogic bag only to find out that it BARELY fits my laptop... i used the bag once to take my laptop to a friends place and that was it. i havent used the bag since...
if anyone is in the nyc area, and wants the bag, i'll pass it onto you for free. -
I ended up with a Swiss Army bag bought at the local Circuit City closedown sale. Cost me all of $20-.
My G70 is a 17 incher, but there is plenty of room in the bag. -
