The official memory limit for the nc4000 is 1GB (2x512MB) and memory suppliers such as Crucial abide by that and don't offer anything bigger than 512MB when you search by computer. But I've seen another memory supplier claim that 2GB (2x1GB) was the limit for the nc4000. Am I safe to put a 1GB module in my nc4000?

Thanks. Up till recently I've used only Macs and with those it seems to be the norm that you can put in more than the maximum recommended memory. I guess I've been used to Mac forums where there are always lots of other people who use the exact same model. In HP World it's different; very few people on the HP forum will have the same model. So I need to learn to frame more general questions.
