    Thanks

    and second question,

HP's display drivers (ati) are 8.635xxxxx and it's what i currently have.
however, at ATI's website, they have the 8.65 version..

    what is recommended???

should i take the HP's drivers, but less updated?
or should i take the gfx maker's updated drivers, but not from HP?

my friend has the 8.65 and it has "-ATI" at the end whereas i have the 8.635 and it has "-HP" at the end.

    Hi,

Maybe because the image you included just looks like a white box?

Is there any text in the popup, or is it really just a white box?

    hi thanks for the answer.

it's a white box in that picture beccause the background was white at the time of the picture.

but it's a shape of an error message displayed "could not connect to network"

but even though the message is gone, the outline of the message shape is still there in every window. and it doesnt disappear until restart.

    Hi,

That (the blank popup that doesn't go away) is strange :(...

What operating system are you running? Was it the one that came with the machine originally, or have you upgraded/changed the operating system from the original?

Also, when you say "and it fails", is that a connection to a wireless network?

    Jim

basically the pop up pops up saying i couldnt connect, but when i click it to acknowledge it, it goes blank and the shape stays there...

i am running windows 7 home premium -64bit and this os came pre installed with the laptop :)

yes to a wireless network, sorry for forgetting to state that earlier.

thank you for asking those questions
