As the latest development in my 'quest' to promote honest display marketing, I have received confirmation from Reddit user /u/varnage that their 2017 HP Spectre x360 15t uses a 3840x2160 display with a full-RGB matrix! This is contrary to the 2016 model, which used the RG/BW Pentile matrix to claim the resolution. Kudos to HP for making this change.
If you were holding off purchasing this model due to uncertainty about the display, or if you are in general looking for a 2-in-1 with a high-resolution display, here's your green light.
Chroma test showing no missing RGB components. Image credit /u/varnage.

A corresponding photo of the display in the 2016 HP Spectre x360 15t, 4K model, that demonstrates the missing RGBs:

Still waiting on confirmation for the 13.3" 4K model. 13.3" model is true 3840x2160 as well! https://www.reddit.com/r/Hewlett_Pa...l_thing_hp_spectre_x360_133_uhd_dark/ddjp0j7/
