Three times in the last week or so I have seen the yellow shield on my shut down button when closing down the computer. I shut down and get an installation of some Windows update. In all three times when I restart the computer it will load the desktop and some of the systray items then stop. No program will run and eventually it just freezes. I have to go to Safe Mode and use system restore to pick a restore point earlier than the update.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? Any steps I can take to prevent it other than refusing updates (which I don't want to do).
