    seen at FW:
    HP Bing Laptops 25% Cashback

to reiterate - do not try to use a coupon if you going for the Bing refund, there is a 100% chance that Bing reward will be canceled. and they won't alert you that the reward is canceled for several weeks... at which point it may be too late to return the laptop. 25% is quite good on its own.

Definitely a solid deal, wish there wasn't ~$180 in tax.

Does this work with the academic discount program?

    No, academic discount voids Bing.

You know whats crazy...I did two orders for my Envy 15 - cancelled the first one - yet thats the one that still is on my Bing cashback record. I have my laptop from my second order, yet the Bing says my cashback will be available in 12 days. This is from the $450 coupon when HP had a 10% cashback. I know its for the first order, which I cancelled, because the second laptop ordered cost more.

Crossing my fingers, but realistically knowing that it will be gone.

Shoot, this makes me want an Envy 15 over waiting for the 14. Someone dissuade me!

14, still maybe cheaper with 10% off, backlit kb, better size for me...

Aren't they the same size, with the 14 being slightly heavier?

But ya.. backlit keyboard, media drive, E2E, better cooling? I also remember reading about an improved touchpad but I don't know if that's hardware or software. If software it may not be a true benefit over the 15.

I think the 15 is actually thinner huh... media drive i dont care about, E2E is cool, hopefully better battery life+cooling. Touchpad Im thinking is software.

Hows does the current 15 seem to be holding up over time?

No possible way the dimensions are the same. Weight isn't everything.

    Really? I thought they were.

    edit:

    E14:
    14.01" (W) x 9.33" (D) x 1.09" (H)
    5.25lbs

    E15:
    14.96" (W) x 9.60" (D) x 1.04" (H)
    5.17 lbs

Looks like the biggest difference is 0.95 inches on the width.

    No. The 14 is 14.01" (W) x 9.33" (D) x 1.09-1.1" (H) at 5.25 lbs... the 15 is: 14.96" (W) x 9.77" (D) x 1.04" (H) at 5.17 lbs. I'd say it is significantly larger, but I'd have to see in person to be certain.

Do you think 0.95 inches in width is significant? I have a hard time imagining, rest seems so close that it wouldn't matter.

Yes, nearly one inch of width is significant in my opinion... Especially since the reason I'm seeking a new laptop is portability (but obviously I do not want to sacrifice power).

Yup. As someone who was searching for a 13" (but cannot afford a Z) portability is my concern as well. I just don't know if roughly half an inch in either side is noticeable but I'll take your word on it. Wish I could compare in person.

Part of me is thinking maybe the better screen/video card in the 15 trump the benefit of less than an inch in width. But I love the back lit keyboard and E2E.. so I'm torn. If only I could mix and match!

Does anybody know if the 25% bing cash back can be used for purchases in the HP small and medium business online store? This is because when i search through bing, the bing page directs me to the HP Home & Home office store.
