Has anyone got a 2530p with a powered usb port? The hardware maintenance manual seems to indicate some models have this. How can I confirm or check if I have one (sounds useful)?

Already checked with computer on standby and the connected device (ipod) stops charging on either of the ports? :(

Edit: Thanx to the moderator for moving my post to the correct place.

powered usb: the usb port near the power connector (upper left side) with a "+" sign, if you have the right model.

Maybe the problem is in iPod.
An USB has 4 pins, 1 5V power, 1 ground, and 2 for data link. However, Apple make almost all their i-products charge only when both power link and data link are available, which is not standard. And that's the reason why you cannot charge your iPod with powered USB port, since that USB port gives power through power link when your laptop is asleep. No data signal is transmitted.
