The 8510w that I'm going to get comes with a single 2GB SODIMM. I was planning to pull that out and get 2x2GB from crucial $200, but I just saw that I can get the extra 2GB from HP for only $200 also. Cost is same, but this way I don't have to deal with the leftover sodimm from HP. the main reason I wanted the Crucial sticks is for the Micron chips.
Would I notice a quality difference? Any chance the HP SODIMM use Micron chips?

OVERPRICED!!!!
Check the RAM Deals thread...you can get a 2GB stick for less than $100, and the RAM is perfectly fine.
EDIT: Slightly misread here! Just use the HP stick and one Crucial stick, save $$$. There is nothing wrong with that, they'll just run at the fastest common timing. You won't have a problem.
RAM is RAM, and people need to realize that! -
Plus, I guess if I feel like I'm having performance issues, then this way I can always just buy another Crucial stick
I'll be doing heavy photo & video editing with memory hog apps fwiw
