    I have a dv6000t

so 1/4 of my screen is normal and the other 3/4 is either black or it freezes then fades to a white. sometimes when i move my monitor itll work but recently it doesnt do anytihng and it just freezes. right now my screen is normal but im scared to move it incase it gets messed up. So i called HP and they said its prbably the graphics card. This makes sense because my computer crashed like over 20 times hwen i tried to play bioshock. They want to charge me 300-400 for repairs????? have you guys seen this before? Is there anything else I can do like swap out the video card myself? Is there a way to tune the settings so my graphics card isnt over working itself or something?

    PLZ HELP!!!! :(

My monitor did that recently when I installed Linux. Updated drivers fixed the situation on my machine - which was a desktop. You might also reseat the card and see if that helps.

I would try updating graphics cards first, then go from there. Have you had any problems playing other games besides bioshock? My computer has crashed a couple of times due to driver issues in certain games, (I have the dv6000t as well). also, there is no reseating the graphics card. In notebooks its going to be directly soldered to the motherboard, which is why it costs so much to be replaced.
