    Good evening-

I have some quick questions on my dv6500t:

    1) Can you perform a processor upgrade on this model?

    2) Can you hook up an external monitor on both the VGA and HDMI ports at the same time? Obviously, I expect the laptop screen to be blank at that point if you can connect 2 external monitors.

    3) Are there any blu-ray burners that fit in the DVD slot.

    Thank you,
    Chris

    1. Yes, but you would have to dis assemble the whole notebook if you want to access the cpu.

    2. Not quite sure, but I don't think that would be possible, its either the VGA or the HDMI.

    3. Yes, as long as it is a slim type notebook drive. The only problem would be with the front face plate. HP uses a custom one compared to the generic flat front plate on most retail drives. But you should be able to remove the front plate and replace it onto the blu ray drive.

    1) Yes, but be aware it will void your warranty.

    2) You should be able too with a Nvidia GPU, as the Nvidia Control Panel lets you set up multiple display options

    3) Not too sure

    Post all you laptop specs

First, thank you both for the responses. Here are my specs before I get to my follow up questions:

    HP dv6500t

    - 2.4ghz T7700
    - 3 gigs of RAM
    - NVIDIA 8400M GS
    - original 120 gig HDD (going to upgrade to either a SSD or the new Hitachi model)
    - Intel 4965AGN wireless
    - Realtek High Def Audio
    - DVD +/- R DL burner

I think that's it in terms of specs.

    Now, my follows ups:

    1) Any HDMI -> DVI connector show work correct? My Dell 20" WS does not support HDCP but I don't think that's an issue in terms of the adaptor.

    2) In terms of the blu-ray drive, would something like a UJ-220 work? Here's a link (it may not work):

I can't tell if the tabs on the panels would match up so I could change out the panel or not....

    Thanks again!
    Chris

Frankly on first look to me it seems if they would line up. Just had a quick look at the picture and my Drive!

$ 540 for a drive seems insane to me by the way! :)
