Does anyone know when the 30% off code is about to expire? I need to wait 4-5 days before I can order, so just curious.

I think someone mentioned on the last 30% discount was when it's maxed out, HP will pull the discount off.

The coupon doesn't seem to have gone away yet, but I read in the student discount/coupon thread that this particular coupon expires on October 9th, 2007. I still have to order mine tomorrow...I hope it sticks around.

    Cool - thanks.

Btw, I noticed that prices of Extended Warranties went up. E.g. 3 year went from 199 to 269. Though the customization page shows 199 after rebate, but you can either get the rebate on this or use the 30% coupon, but not both.

Does anyone know if they keep changing these warranty prices often too?! I would like to get the 3-year for 199, and it seems I have a whole year to get it...so I can wait to see if it comes down.

Okay so I just received a dv9500t and used the 20% off coupon. I read this post and saw that many people called and got the extra 10% off. I tried calling HP and getting the extra 10% but the first two I talked to were the wrong people and then I called sales and they said I can't. So I am wondering who the people here called that was successful? Could a phone number be provided? Or did you just try a main HP line? I don't want to send the laptop back, but then $140 is a lot of money.

I called the 1800 number found on the website. I hope you can still get yours. Good luck.

I called trying to get that extra 10% back but only ended up getting 25 dollars back. It did make sense though because the time that I used the 20% coupon ther were more hp promotions for free upgrades for ram and hard drive so I'm just happy I was able to get some money back.

That bites. I want a 8510p, but the price is outrageous if you want to customize anything. All I really want to change is the HDD to 7200 rpm and ABGN wireless. The 30% off would have made it more or less in the same range as the Thinkpad (w/ same specs) I am looking at. I wonder if I call them and tell them I will get the Thinkpad unless they will come down a bit, if they will.

It is possible. But your mileage will really vary depending on what sales person you talk too. Some will be all to happy to help you out, others don't care. If you don't get anything the first time I would try again and hope to get someone different.

I also called them because I used the 20% coupon and they issued the 30% discount a week later. After I was on the phone for an hour I managed to talk to a supervisor who offered to give me 100 dollars credit. If you are going to call ask to talk to a supervisor because the reps will not be helpful at all. Actually they are pretty annoying because you have to repeat yourself at least 5 times. Anyway, the other day I ordered a laptop for a friend of mine and they gave me an extra 50 dollars credit on my account. I have absolutely no idea why. If anyone knows (maybe it is a promotion if you order 2 laptops within a month or something) please let me know, not that I am complaining or anything.

    Keep the money coming HP!

there was about two weeks (maybe week and a half?) time from when the first one in sep died and this new one started.

No one exept hp would know for sure when a new one will be out.
