I was wondering if anyone has run 3dmark03 on the dv2000t with the geforce go 7200. If anyone has, would you mind posting what the score was?
Also, I was wondering how much weight a 12 cell battery adds to the dv2000t.
Thanks,
Karl

My desktop isn't that great either. Only 1462 =\ -
Mind throwing in the 2001 and 2005 scores too when you have time?
Thanks. -

Thanks kielby. Looks great compared to my desktop, nearly twice as good. =)
I appreciate you taking the time to test it. -
How do I know if those results are good or not? Is there a score table that says this number is great, good, or bad? Sorry if this is a dumb question.
Hey Kielbi, I believe you are one of the first ones to receive the DV2000T with the Go 7200 video card.I'm receiving mine on Monday.
Which instructions did you follow to do the clean XP install?
Thanks. -
Wow, thanks! Looks like the Go 7200 is within the range of my old Geforce 4 Ti 4200 ^_^
-
You can look at the Compaq v3000z review on this site to get an idea. That one, with 1.6GHz Turion64 X2 and nVidia GeForce Go 6150 got 613 3d marks on 3dMark05. So that's a pretty big improvement!

Yeah, I ordered the laptop the morning that the 7200 option was available, they shipped it a day ahead of schedule. Crazy thing is, I chose the free shipping option, yet the laptop left China Wednesday morning and was delivered to my house in MA Friday 11am.
As for reinstall, I pretty much followed the instructions sticked in the dv2000t thread in this forum. I used the $10 reinstall CD that I ordered, and the SwSetup folder that came with the laptop. I installed some extra stuff that is not mentioned in the thread but everything went smoothly. I deleted all partitions on the drive, and recreated one large one minus 1028mb for QP. Reinstalled QP using the two folders in SwSetup: QPW and HPQPDP. -
admlam,
I have a Geforce 4 Ti 4200 too. =) -
I was looking at getting the laptop will the go 7200 be able to run aeroglass jusr as smooth as a high end card? I dont play games all i care about is aero support. Also you guys like the notebook? i am highly considering getting one but then i think to myself 14.1 or 15.4 i dont know... another thing what is the main difference between the compaq and pavillion body wise I know pavillion has the grey inner as opposed to compaq bein all black but iheard the grey part was help to cooling the notebook

@notebookhelp
Ya, the Geforce 4 Ti 4200 was such a great card for the time. I managed to get it to run CS:S at 60 fps. (Medium settings at 800x600 in a window of course!) Not bad for $70. Too bad it can't run BF2.
@gsimpson
The gimped ATI 200m IGP runs Vista Aero just fine on my brother's V2000. But at the moment, drivers support is horrible for Vista so I imagine anything that Microsoft says will run Aero will run Aero upon release. But if you want a laptop that runs Vista just fine, just wait until Vista is officially released.
14" is best for portability.
15" is the compromise of price, performance, and weight. (It all depends on what you need and how often you'll move the notebook. If you are always on the move, you'll learn to appreciate the weight of the 14" and never will go back)
Personally, I like the look of Compaq's V3000 over the dv2000. I'm more of a fan of the monotone piano black color instead of the dual black-grey scheme. It's a pity that only the HP offers the Go 7200. Other than different features and asthetic qualities, they are essentially the same in terms of quality. -
Yea I like the all black design better just from what I heard on the pavillion that grey part is less prone to fingerprint/scratcing than the compaq one that has the all black i wonder if thats true? Also will the 15.4 versions of the newer design have just regular Core Duo soon? or they just wait and just allow Core 2 Duo? hmm I really like the looks and since i wont be as portable much I guess a 15.4 would be just fine.

My 3D Mark scores are a bit higher.
3DMARK01:10,080
3DMARK03:?
3DMARK05:1582
Pretty good for this kind of card. I can get CS:S to run at all high, 4xaf, at 1024x768 and it always stays above 40fps. I am very happy. -
has anybody tried any games on it?
-
I'm getting 3050 with my 7200 at the moment...i'll OC it and post back...
-
and does anyone has a 3dMark score for Geforce4 TI in compare to geforce 7200 , 6150 and GMA 950
