    Hi Guys,

I got a compaq R3230CA AMD64 3000+ notebook and when i insert any SD card it says it detects the device, installs the TI ultramedia and then it says there's a problem and can't use the device. I've got all updated drivers from hp/compaq. There's a yellow exclamation mark next to the device (TI_ultramediaSD) in device manager.

I'm running winxp sp2 home edition.

I've tried multiple sd cards and they all do the same thing.
I stuck the card in my brother's toshiba laptop and it reads fine as a removeable device.

    Help anyone?
    Thanks

    Hi Noodles,

I had almost the same problem where the card reader was not writing or reading or formating my SDs. I found out there was a driver meant for HP Tablet but works also on Notebooks. I am not sure about Compaq but for Pavillion Zv5000 series, I used the driver TICardReaderSP29116.exe from HP which did fixed my problem! Now I can read and write. It turns out to be that the chipset on Card Reader (Ti) on HP Tablet and zv5000 series notebooks are same thats why the drivers works without a probem. I am not sure why HP does not create same drivers for notebooks too!

I hope you find a solution. I hope it works out for you.

hey guys thanks for the replies,

i got HP support and it looked like I needed to upgrade to sp2 before any of the updates would work.

    it's working great now.

    thanks,
