My friend has an beats audio edition HP DV6 (i5-2430m, 6770m)
Is it possible to configure the 3 audio jacks (2 headphone, 1 mic) for 5.1 surround audio?

I know on my old Dell SXPS you could change the mic jack to sub/centre speaker etc using i an IDT interface.

I think the beats audio uses IDT drivers but the interface is pretty limited, would it be possible to uninstall beats and replace it with the IDT version to achieve 5.1?

I have same exact question for the same exact laptop!
I need to know if i can plug in a True 5.1ch Headset into these 3 jacks.
Will it act as 5.1ch surround or will it just act as a stereo headset?

I am 99.8% sure that it is 2 channel only.
