    i think with laptops you have to put the three cables
    1. Front Left + Front Right
    2. Back Left + Back Right
    3. Sub + Center
    into the headphone 1, headphone 2 and mic... in what order i dont know, and through the audio control panel u have to change it to surround. maybe there it will show you how...!
