    500GB ENVY, loud head parking?

    Has aonyone else experienced laoud head parking or clicking on their 500 GB drive in their Envy? I can even hear it over music and the fans easily.

    If it is a seagate you might be able to get a firmware update to quieten it, or you can use software called hdparm do disable the power saving mode that causes the hdd to park it`s head making the clicking noise.

    hi, I have the same problem with loud clicking
    Tried to use hdparm but get a "Permission denied" message when trying to use.

    Can anyone please walk me through the process, i'm a bit of a novice
