I recently upgraded my R3000Z from 256MB to 768MB by adding a stick of Centon 512MB PC2700 to my system. I ran a bunch of memory benchmarks and it passed with flying colors, not one error, so I thought "great". NOT! I guess I finally got around to running the system (not just charging) while on AC power and it goes to Blue Screen and crashes. I can not boot my R3000Z on AC without blue screen, even in safe mode. So, question is, is this incompatability or bad RAM?

My bet's on incompatible. Usually if MemTest86+ says you're OK after half an hour of testing your RAM is good, but sometimes the RAM will still fail under high CPU load or some other circumstance. Your best bet is to return or eBay the Centon RAM and buy one or two 512MB PC2700 sticks direct from Crucial. AMD64 CPUs like Micron memory better than anything else. I have two sticks of Crucial/Micron PC2700 512MB in my zv5000z.
