Hi guys,
Is it true there is a known issue with DV and V6000 laptops?
I've seen two which wouldn't even POST and get past the BIOS.
Complete blank screens.
I stripped and rebuilt one, but couldn't see any obvious damage.
Best regards,

Yes, some of the dv60xx/dv20xx/dv90xx and its Compaq variants have had reliability issues. HP issued a repair recall back in Nov for these systems, atleast in the US they will fix it for free even if out of warranty - upto a year after the expiration of the std warranty.

This is correct It is an issue with the motherboards, and hp does replace them for free for a spec time frame

They have issued a statement saying they know about the problem. They also extended the warranty the models effected so that even people that no longer have a warranty on their laptop can still get the problem fixed.
