I have one of the first dv7tqe delivered in the States (so not to confuse the issue with the newest 61xx). I upgraded to the the Cyberlink ultra 9 suite soon after puchase. I normally do not use Blu-Ray disks. When the 6770m is selected, I get the following message. It works fine if I switch to Intel HD. The driver is 8.830.6.2000 (rev. B) ... Anybody else? Any suggestions??? [ BD Advisor sees the Intel HD and says everything is okay.. ]

Well I think I figured out the issue here, WITHOUT the help of either HP or Cyberlink Support . It seems that the version on PowerDVD 10 that shipped with the dv7tqe (# XW899AV, 6000 series) is indeed DIFFERENT than that of what is installed if you choose to upgrade to MediaSuite ultra 9 (not quite so ultra, aye?). You must use "sp53029.exe" if you want to be able to use the 6770m GPU for viewing Blu-Ray discs (Intel HD work under BOTH versions)

I don't think I could get PowerDVD to run on high-performance graphics, was stuck on Intel... I might check later.

Another option that will play blu-ray disks on your HP is to use HP Mediasmart DVD. It is essentially a CyberLink product with HP branding. It does not have anywhere near the options as PowerDVD does. All it basically does is to play blu-ray movies. Less bloat and does not pester you to upgrade every time you open it.
