They probably won't, because the dv9500t would get it first (and that is unlikely). At least not anytime soon........

Um, HP's website lists the DV6500T has having an 8400GS.... the 9500ts have the 8600GTs. I dont think they will put an 8600 in the DV6500... they have always put the low-med graphics cards in the 15.4"s and the medium-high ones in the 17s.

The dv9500t does NOT include the 8600 GT. The best card HP offers is the 8600 GS, which is a significant step below the GT.

The dv9500t has an 8600 GS.

About as good as the aforementioned 8600GT. ;)

Since HP's discrete graphics options are permanently attached onto the PCB, it requires a new board for every different "card" (as the onboard vram seems to indicate this). It is costly, and the current chassis' are not that great with heat dissipation (IMO).

Does this mean that we have to wait for a laptop refresh ?....(the one that happens once in two years or so ??)

Or ....has HP historically released newer versions often in the past? (like Say dv6520t ??)

you can wait but they are doing as they have always done before. the cards they have today will be the cards they will always have and the same goes for the next range unless they change that. so dont hold your breath for a card upgrade cuz you will just turn blue :p
