Does anyone know if DDR2 667 ram is supported on the V3000T with the Core 2 Duo T7200?? The HP specs say Up to 400MHz.
    Thanks in advance.

667 RAM is supported. HP uses cheaper RAM in order to save costs.

    TheDDR2 400 spec is a typo. They use DDR2 533 or DDR2 667MHz memory.

Thank you very much for your answers... does the same apply to the V3000T with Core Duo (i.e. 2500)? how do I check the memory speed on my system?
...no need to say I'm a newbie...
    thanks again

The V3000t shares the same hardware and so it also supports the same memory as the dv2000t.

I would recommend CPU-Z. Very useful utility to know basic system specifications and is very reliable most of the time.

Does anybody actually get 677 replaced in their system?

The other question is: why HP put 1x256MB option in V3000Z? Would that mean AMD also support single channel DDR2? Intel doesn't have that option at all.

Your memory is DDR(like any other memory in the market), so the effective clock speed of a memory running at 266MHz is 533MHz.
