Am I the only one having the 6710b chassis creaking on the left side when tilting up/down the screen lid or just pushing softly the case border down the keyboard?

Also, the fan stays on all the time when going up 40C of TZ0. Not the worse sound though since it is the lowest speed it can reach. Then it goes a bit mad above 50C, that I normally reach after a few hours of usage and then starts to bother only when the CPU gets a bit loaded, let's say for web page scrolling etc which happens pretty often though.

Serial number is CNU740 so out of the bad range. The problem doesn't seem to be the one presented by many users as if the notebook stays idle the temperature goes down and it tends to cool off with no fan spinning.

I think it's rather an issue with the thermal zone thresholds and ACPI management of the BIOS (running the latest, F.0B).

Anyhoo, the case creaking doesn't look to me quite right. Anyone detected something similar? I've solved temporarily putting some foam in between the case and the mobo, right in the border next to the keyboard. It doesn't seem to obstruct the cooling as I've managed to cut the foam and make it consistent enough, but it's certainly a workaround.

I confess that I'm pretty reluctant to send the laptop over assistance just for the creaking problem as I've managed to solve it, but if the fan behavior doesn't look to be normal I will have no doubts to give the laptop some vacancy.

Your hints are appreciated .. as usual :)
