I'm running in fixed mode on the latest HP driver.

When I try to turn off powerplay in the CCC, gaming performances slows dramatically. What causes this? Even if I were to successfully turn off PowerPlay without the slow down, would it increase gaming performance?

    Thank you.

I believe turning off powerplay reduces the clocks on the card substantially.

If that's the case, then turning off powerplay will always have the slow down and it would not increase gaming performance.

Turning off PowerPlay make the clocks fixed@100/150.

Workaround for this, overclock or downclock the card with MSI Afterburner or Sapphire Trixx. Don't use the default value which is 725/800.

Why would you want to turn off powerplay?
