I'm looking to replace my current notebook soon (nc6230). I tried searching for reviews on the 6910p but couldn't find any. Does anyone here own one? If so, what are your thoughts?

A couple of questions that come to mind - If I go to the HP business website, I can't configure one of these notebooks, does anyone know why? Has HP stopped custom configurations for their business line? Also, does these notebooks have Intel's turbo memory installed? I looked at the PDF specs and it didn't mention anything. If they don't come installed, will I be able to install (upgrade) it myself?

I've been looking around to see what my next notebook should be, and I've narrowed my choices to the 6910p or the t61. I like everything about the t61 (especially the price!) except that the screen is lackluster and off-centered. I'm big into symmetry and that was a huge disappointment. Does anyone know of other business notebooks that are comparable in build an quality as these two?

Don't think they are selling them yet.

The HP nc6400 is the pre Santa Rosa equivalent of the 6910p.

You can have it now and if you are not a VISTA fan there are Smart Buy options with XP PRO, you don't get that with the 6910p.

You could check these two :

    RB516UT (T5600 1GB[2DIMM] XP PRO 5400rpm80GB DVDRW G950) for $1289

    RB518UT (T7200 1GB[1DIMM] XP PRO 7200rpm80GB DVDRW X1300) for $1495

Thank you for your replies. I think I'm going to wait for the 6910p. Would you happen to know the date when itll be available?

I believe mid-June to early July is what HP announced for the availability of the 6910p

Ah thanks! Will you be writing a review for this notebook? I personally think the HP business notebook line is one of the most under-rated notebook lines out there, considering the build and finish is at par with the Thinkpads, if not better.

The HPs are certainly good, but I'd have to disagree with that though I may be biased.

    ^ Yes you are.

And I would have to take what you say with a grain of salt. You own the lower end R series, HP's business notebooks are a couple of hundred dollars more than similarly configured T's. If price wasn't the issue, I think HP has one of the better business notebooks out there.
