I have been thinking of picking one of these up, but I am not really sure if it's worth it or not. Does anyone know how much battery life one of these would give my laptop (specs are in my sig)?

I can't decide if it's better to get one of these, or get another six cell...or a larger cell battery. I am trying to keep the weight down though, since I have to pack this lappy around a lot.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't believe there is a multi-bay battery available for the 6910p. In fact since HP went Multi-Bay II they haven't had multi bay batteries.
Any way, with the X2300 I get about 3 1/2 hours with minimum brightness, wireless on. Probably around 2 1/2 to 3 hours with normal brightness. That is with dedicated graphics.
The best thing about the HP is that you can purchase the 8 cell or 12 cell travel batteries, and use them if you need them. So if you didn't need more than 2 1/2 hours on the run, then you wouldn't need to bring the travel battery with you.
In summary, the options for extended batteries are the 12 cell or 8 cell travel batteries, or alternatively buy a second 6 cell.
I think it would be better with a travel battery as you don't need to shut down or hibernate the laptop if you needed to swap batteries.

Marmion is correct, MultiBay II only accepts optical drives (DVD-ROM, CD-RW/DVD-ROM, DVD±R/RW), secondary hard drive or an optional weight saver. If you want to enhance the battery life of your 6910p, you may either get one of the Travel Batteries, which are attached to the bottom of the notebook, or another primary battery. See the QuickSpecs for further info.

I guess I will just pick up another 6 cell then. Seems to be the best way to keep the weight down. The 8/12 cells just seem to bulky for my bag right now. great concept though.

Hello quick question; I am using a Travel Battery for my 6910p, no matter how I charge it it won't go higher than 40% of capacity.
It's supposed to be brand new. Can it in any way be Recalibrated or similar ?
There is a "Calibrate" button in the Battery "Detailed Information" panel in XP.
But pressing that button does not seem to make any difference ???
    Please enlighten me...
