    Hey guys,

after reinstall of my 6910p I have a problem with the display brightness. When starting windows, the display is "very" bright. But after a few seconds, the display suddenly darkens a bit. I have already checked the ambient light sensor (is turned off in BIOS) and the display is on maximum brightness all the time.

As I have never experienced that before, I have not the faintest idea how to solve the problem.

Hope you guys can help me.

If you're on battery power it may automatically dim. Have a look in the advanced power options for the power scheme to see whether the display will dim.
When I log into Windows it will dim the screen, then I have to increase the brightness again.

I have checked the advanced power options already. The brightness is at maximum in every power scheme, no matter if I am running on battery power or not.

    Its mysterious...

Try enabling the ALS in BIOS and disable it in windows.

    Did not work either.

I made a recovery, and up till know the display is bright as usual.

    Strange...

I have the same problem again. After some days of use, the display darkens again.

Is someone experiencing the same problem?

I think so. I used the drivers provided on the CDs by HP.
