any thoughts? both of these will work on my dv6000z, right?
thanks!
-
I would get the 320GB one, its much bigger and only marginally slower and yes, both will work in your dv6000z.
-
you have to realize that the higher data density on the 320GB will mean better transfer rates and access time.
-
The higher density of the platters will mean better sequential data transfer rates but that will have little affect on random access times. The 7200rpm drive is still going to be faster.
-
Go with 320gb. The hitatchis heat up like hell.
My old laptop that fried had a hitatchi and my new one has a wd scorpio, the temps dont go past 40c -
yeah, im considering a 5400rpm because what i've read from reviews taht 7200rpm will fry your laptops... thanks!
-
if you wanna go 7200 go with the seagate momentus, they run cool from what i hear
-
I would go with the bigger 320gb because I am not a fan of sacrificing massive amounts of space for a 'faster' hard drive.
-
I replaced 2x WD Scorpio 120GB 5400rpm drives in my dv9260 for the 2x Hitachi 7k200. Surprisingly the Hitachi runs significantly cooler than the WD. Definitely a good move to go with the Hitachi! You won't be disappointed!
-
I myself have a hitachi hard drive 5k160 and it runs hot as hell. Perhaps its only this hard drive but Hitachi has had a reputation for their hard drives running hotter than other brands.
-
lol from what people have just said, 5400rpm hitachis run hot, 7400rpm hitachis dont haha
7200rpm 200Gb or 5400 320Gb?
